TONEIGHBORHOODWATCH.ORG FACT SHEET
Mission: TONEIGHBORHOODWATCH.ORG is a non-profit organization providing leadership and a supporting on-line community aimed at uniting local government, law enforcement, neighborhood watch programs, civic organizations, schools, merchants, faith-based and other community partners in the common goal of crime prevention and safety. The organization facilitates the creation of new neighborhood and business watch programs and a support community for existing programs. It takes neighborhood watch to a new level by actively involving all segments of the Thousand Oaks as equal partners and providing sponsorship opportunities to support education and awareness programs. These endeavors are also aimed at helping minimize the cost and time necessary to run local neighborhood watch programs.
Scope: TONEIGHBORHOODWATCH.ORG concentrates its work in the following areas (but is not limited to):
Products: The primary product of TONEIGHBORHOODWATCH.ORG is the web site, which will link local neighborhood watch programs and the police, provide support resources and information for both new and existing programs, and provide registration and information on events. The organization also presents and sponsors National Night Out and the Thousand Oaks Safety Talk series.
Organizational Structure: An advisory board of up to six community leaders steers the organization during bi-annual meetings and as needed during the year. TONEIGHBORHOODWATCH.ORG was founded by its president John DiGuiseppe and is directed by Brenda Storz.
History: TONEIGHBORHOODWATCH.ORG was founded in 2003 by John DiGuiseppe and is the proud sponsor and presenter of the Thousand Oaks Neighborhood Watch Program, National Night Out 2003 and the Thousand Oaks Community Safety Talk Series. |
